The short version

Arakel stores the information you choose to give it so you can build a private life story. We do not sell personal information or use your memories for advertising. Sharing is off by default, and you can permanently delete your account from Settings.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, name, authentication records, and account settings.
  • Story content: answers, chapters, timeline events, dates, places, and other memories you enter.
  • Media: photos you upload and optional illustrations generated for your stories.
  • Technical information: IP address, device/browser details, request logs, and security or error events needed to operate and protect the service.

How we use information

We use your information to provide authentication, save and organize memories, generate narrative assistance and optional illustrations, enable family sharing at your direction, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and maintain service security.

AI-assisted features

In the iPhone app, before written memory text is sent to Anthropic, Arakel presents a per-save choice. Choosing Allow AI & Save sends the guided question, your answer, and an optional memory date to Anthropic for AI-assisted writing and timeline processing. Choosing Save without AI preserves the original memory without that transfer or inferred timeline events. The iPhone app does not send your photo, password, or email address to Anthropic.

On the website, saving a guided or inspired answer—including finishing a pinned answer—sends Anthropic the displayed question, your written answer, an optional date where that flow provides one, and whether a photo is attached, but not the photo itself. Saving a text-based free-form memory sends its title or prompt and written text. Requesting an inspired question sends the selected era, mood, topic, and the account's first name when available. Choosing a tone rewrite sends the question, original answer, current narrative, and selected tone. These website actions currently use Anthropic as part of the action described on the button.

Website illustrations are not generated automatically. Only a signed-in story owner can select Generate Illustration, Regenerate, or a new illustration style. That action sends OpenAI a short prompt based on the chapter title, question, and chosen style—not the full story, uploaded photo, email address, or password—and stores the resulting image with the owner's story.

Under Anthropic's standard commercial API terms, API inputs and outputs are not used for model training unless the customer opts in and are automatically deleted from Anthropic's backend within 30 days, subject to limited safety, abuse-prevention, legal, or separately agreed exceptions. Do not submit information you are not comfortable having processed by these service providers.

Under OpenAI's standard API data controls, API inputs and outputs are not used for model training unless the customer opts in. OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring logs, which can include prompts and generated outputs, for up to 30 days unless different approved controls or legal requirements apply.

Storage and service providers

Arakel uses Supabase for database, authentication, and private media storage, and Vercel for application hosting and delivery. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. As of July 16, 2026, the production Supabase project is on a Pro plan with service logs accessible for up to seven days and database storage of Auth audit entries disabled; Vercel's runtime-log window for the production team is one hour. Information may be processed in the United States.

Family sharing

Your account is private by default. If you enable family sharing, selected finished stories are available through a personal URL protected by a password you choose. Anyone who has both can view the shared material, so use a unique password and share it carefully. You can disable the page or change its password in Settings.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information while your account is active and as needed for legitimate security, legal, or operational purposes. Choosing Delete account and stories in Settings removes your profile, memories, timeline, and uploaded Arakel media from active systems. Limited backups, provider safety records, and security logs may persist temporarily before their normal expiration, including the Anthropic and OpenAI standard API windows described above.

Your choices

You may review or edit story content in the app, disable family sharing, change its password, or delete your account. To request access, correction, or assistance with deletion, email hi@nsprd.com.

Children

Arakel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information without appropriate consent. Contact us if you believe a child has created an account.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how personal information is handled. Arakel is operated by Joxs Development. Questions can be sent to hi@nsprd.com.
